Why I Built ISAL
The billing software market was built by and for Western companies. It butchered Arabic layouts, ignored local business habits, and forced subscription overhead. Here is why we built a better way.
The idea was simple: as freelancers and small business owners operating in cross-border environments, we were constantly frustrated by existing billing software. Those platforms were built by and for Western domestic markets.
Every time we tried to write item details in Arabic or combine languages, the formatting fell apart. Tables mirrored awkwardly, English and Arabic text overlapped, and currency symbols jumped out of place. Sending those PDFs to premium clients felt unprofessional.
Furthermore, why should the simple act of generating a receipt or invoice require an email signup, cloud databases, and monthly subscriptions? Billing is a private relationship between you and your clients.
ISAL is not just a PDF builder. It is a philosophy of respecting different business cultures and client languages.
